KALI RISING

Upcoming:
Underwater dance and poetry exhibition

How might movement,
breath, water and storytelling
hold tradition in new forms?

Something is taking shape beneath the surface

Kali Rising - A collection of underwater art, videography and poetry.
Ancient wisdom and storytelling from ancient Sanskrit epics combined with reflections about
the self - our true essence.

Through the lens of Hindu mythology and underwater photography, Kali Rising surfaces questions that are deeply present today, women's empowerment, reclaiming cultural identity, human rights and ocean conservation. The mythological characters of Hindu tradition become a powerful vehicle for these conversations, grounding them in ancestral wisdom while speaking directly to the world as we know it today.

We rise.
Not alone.
Carrying the breath of every woman,
who came before,
their laughter
their wounds
their unshakable will.
We rise for the mothers
who burned quietly.
For the sisters,
who swallowed their truth.
For the daughters,
who dreamed of more
We rise
as Kali,
She who dances,
between creation and destruction.
She who shatters
the cages built of fear and silence.
Her skin, is the night sky.
Her eyes.
The fire, that will not be dimmed.
Her hands hold the sword
to cut through fear and ignorance
The drum to call on new beginnings.

Skins of expectation are shed.
What does not serve is cut away.
What was always ours is reclaimed.
Kali whispers,
Break the chains inside.
Drown the voice
of doubt.
Rise.
With the strength of your lineage
and the freedom of your own being.

FROM THE DEPTHS

SHAKTI

THE FORCE OF LIFE
Shakti is the living force that moves through all things, the pulse beneath creation,
She is the great mother who stirrs life into us, the raw energy from which every world is born.
Shakti is movement,
the current within the water.
Shakti is power, the very ability for existence to become. Without her, nothing moves.
Without her, even the gods are still.

NARAYANA

THE ONE WHO RESTS ON WATER

Narayana rests in eternal stillness, on Shesha, the great serpent, as a lotus rises from his navel carrying Brahma, the creator of worlds.
The water is not emptiness, it is pure potential, the unmanifest ground of all being. Narayana resting within it reveals that our true essence is not separate from this stillness. Nara means water, ayana means abode. He is the one who dwells in the depths, the silent witness beneath all movement, undisturbed, yet the source of everything.

KALI

THE ONE WHO SETS YOU FREE
Kali is the embodiment of truth
in its fiercest form.
A force of radical clarity,
she lives as the raw truth within us,
arising when it is time to shed what is false.
She destroys illusion, ignorance, ego and attachment,
not out of cruelty,
but out of uncompromising love.
She appears when transformation is unavoidable,
when something must end so life can continue with alignment and integrity.
